New Branch Secretary

At the AGM of Aberdeen Branch yesterday (11 March 2020), members at both lunchtime and evening sessions cast their votes in the contested election for the position of Branch Secretary. The votes have now been counted and Les Tarr has duly been elected as Branch Secretary for the forthcoming year.

Incumbent Kenny Luke was the first to congratulate Les, and we thank Kenny for fighting hard during the last two years of his stewardship, in the face of particularly challenging circumstances relating to the Target Operating Model, savage cuts to Council budgets, etc.

After his election, Les said ‘A big thanks to Kenny for the work he has done. I’m looking forward to the role, the challenges and representing the membership going forward. And I promise I’ll practice smiling for picture!’

Many congratulations to Les!
